I looked outside today, only to see that the leaves have started falling. In a few weeks, there’ll be barely any leaves on the trees that were blossoming and full of life in the summer. All that will be left are tree trunks and branches with wispy leaves strewn across the neighborhood and city. This transition only tells us one thing; a new season is coming!
The scorching summer sun and long hours of daylight, will give way to cool winds, dropped temperatures and shorter daylight. We will exchange the summer dresses for scarves and sweaters, and the sandals for boots. We prepare for the fall, and then winter both mentally and physically.
We go through the seasons, and are expectant that spring and summer will soon come again. Some people like the cold, and others prefer the warmer temperatures, but we all go through the seasons enjoying or enduring whichever one we find ourselves in based on our preferences.
Life is the same way; we experience different seasons, and not all of them are pleasant, but we need all of them to grow, just like trees. Even though trees may look dead in the colder weather they are are actually ‘slowing down’ on their processes and storing nutrients and water from the soil so that they will have enough energy to grow, and produce the leaves and flowers that we call beautiful in the spring and summer. They are planning and strategizing so that they survive the winter! They may look dead but they’re not!
In seasons of difficulty, God is still building and strengthening us. He is providing us with the tools we need to become better versions of ourselves. It may seem like a lifetime, but your morning is coming! Your new season of breakthrough is forming! Persevere, and remember that morning isn’t a point in time, but a period. Your morning will be beautiful! God loves you.
Love,
Alice
