There’s something about owning your faults, flaws and mistakes. It silences the enemy!
You see, as children of God, we may not always get it right. We may fall into temptation, or choose to go the way that’s not God’s. We may hurt others and ourselves as we live our lives; and then we have to deal with the repercussions of our actions.
When we fail to acknowledge our role in certain decisions we make that have lead to unlikable consequences, we give the enemy the upper hand. The enemy has a way of convincing us to hold our mistakes and shortcoming over our heads. We become so wrapped up in our sin and mistakes that we give up, thinking God will not find us worthy! What tends to happen next is that, we spiral back into the way of unrighteousness.
But thank God for His forgiveness and grace! The Son of God came for us; for those who know they’re not perfect and are only perfected through Christ. God chose some very interesting people and used them. It didn’t matter what they had done, or who they were - what mattered was what God was going to do with them.
The Bible tells us to not be conformed by the world, but to be transformed by the renewal of our spirits in Romans 12:2. We are human, and when we fall, God will help us get back on our feet. So don’t worry, don’t fret, do not be afraid! The hand of God will continue to mold us into who He has created us to be. We will find our purpose in Christ, and the people who write us off, will see us, and see the transformation God has done with us.
Just because Gods grace is abundant (2 Corinthians 12:9), doesn’t mean we should keep going back to our old lives. But when God lifts us out of the muddy waters, let us not forget that. Let’s remember to ask ourselves before we do anything - is this God’s way?
God reminds us that all things are permissible but not all things are beneficial (1 Cor 10:23). We need to apply the question, “Is this beneficial?” to every thing we do. We are victorious in Christ and our mistakes and sins don’t define us! So let people talk, after all they don’t have the final say in your life, God does!!
We are settled in Christ Jesus!!!!
Love,
Alice
