Do you ever feel like your prayers hit a wall and come right back? Or no matter how hard you try to be ‘in the spirit’ you just don’t sense the presence of God?
Have you ever experienced moments in prayer where one minute you almost feel the tangible presence of God, and then the next it’s like the most empty space you’ve ever been in? Or the songs or things that typically reel you into the presence of God somehow have no effect?
Guess what? You’re not alone. We all experience these moments but don’t for a minute think that in those moments, God isn’t with you, or His presence has somehow left you. No, He is right there, right with you in the emptiness. He is still speaking, so be sensitive. God doesn’t only work in one way. He operates in so many ways and dimensions and He’s telling you to be calm and in sync with Him. He’s there listening and communing with you.
In such moments, you might be tempted to quit, after all God isn’t there but don’t! He’s guiding you to an even more intimate space with Him, one that doesn’t dwell on how we feel, but one that is relying solely on faith and trusting that God never leaves His children - that he remains the same and is inviting us into His glory.
Love,
Alice
